Prompt: 009- Impulse
She did not do it on purpose. She never did; never had. Azula had long since stopped denying that she was capable of caring, but that didn't mean that it was something that she did easily or freely. It was an unspoken rule of hers: always be able to count all the people you truly care about on only one hand. It just wasn't worth it, especially on the community.
When she thought about it, she wasn't really sure she cared about Ellie. She liked her, and thought she was interesting. She saw her as capable, and maybe even allowed herself a small (small) amount of concern when it was discovered that she couldn't leave her world. But she did not care.
But there was something that made her talk to her when she was asking about death, and keep talking to her when she admitted to be dying-- even though Azula did not like children, and did not see it as her job to comfort the less fortunate of the community members. Half the people there seemed to have horrible lives; all things considered, dying quickly was probably a mercy for Ellie, considering what her world was like. No, talking to her didn't mean she cared.
Impulsively telling her that she could contact Azula if she ever needed someone to talk to, however, might have.
It didn't matter, Azula decided. It was still less than five.
